Jake Hager, known as Jack Swagger from his WWE days, was successful on his Power Slap debut Friday night.

The 44-year-old two-time WWE champion put fellow American Devin Jenkins on his back in round three of their heavyweight clash in Las Vegas.

Hager landed squarely on Jenkins’ cheek with a thunderous left hand and his opponent’s knees buckled instantly as he crashed to the canvas.

‘Big Jinx’ briefly made it back to his feet but quickly collapsed to the ground once more, prompting the referee to wave off the fight.

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping confirmed from the commentary booth that Jenkins was ‘carried off stage’ and ‘not in a good way’ following the KO defeat.

Hager: Power Slap up there with WWE and MMA

“I’m excited to get that first win out of the way,” Hager, who boasts a pro MMA record of 3-0 following his stint at Bellator in 2019 and 2020, said.

“I know I belong here now and I’m looking forward to building on tonight and only getting better.

“After I took that first shot, I was pretty confident that I was in no danger.

“I was always worried about my accuracy being a new guy and I feel like I put it right on the button tonight.”

Asked if he found anything surprising about competing in Power Slap, Hager added: “Nope, it was exactly what I thought it was going to be.

“I prepared for it and just like pro wrestling, just like MMA, Power Slap is up there with the best, so let’s continue going.”

Hager said he had a ‘big ice pack’ and a ‘cold beer’ to look forward to after his victory.
